November Progress Report - Alpha Release and Demo Update!

I’ll be taking a bit of time off to relax, shake off all my exhaustion from nanowrimo and everything happening in my life. There will still be progress reports, but content may be sparse for a bit while I plan, edit and do other things (December is busy even for my reclusive self).

These past weeks I’ve been focused on coding and editing, which has taken up more of my time than I thought it would.

Also, thanksgiving was not too long ago, and though in my country that holiday doesn’t exist, I wanted to tell you that I’m immensely grateful for all the support you’ve given me. All your comments, and your asks, even just liking my posts, it really does make me happy to know that others enjoy my content.

Goals for this month are:

  • Advance a little more with the chapter.
  • Plan a few extras, if possible. 
  • Learn more Twine.
  • Revise the stat lineup for the game.
  • Revise the outline for Angel’s Song.

Important Announcements

  • The alpha demo is now out! There are also a lot of changes on my Patreon, more info here.
  • Public demo has been updated.
  • I’m delaying the public Discord server release until I feel a little more mentally stable.
  • I tried to find a tag that wasn’t too cluttered with other posts, but, unfortunately, I could not find any, and making an acronym of the title leads to an ace attorney tag. The japanese name also leads to an old RPG, so, I really don’t know what to do. For now, the tag I’ll be tracking is Volarie: An Angel’s Song, but I accept suggestions.

Demo Update Notes

  • Now Klaus can be a woman or non-binary! I have no plans of making any other characters gender changeable. I decided to do so for Klaus so everyone can enjoy the angst and the childhood romance/rival route. 
  • Asha’s name has officially changed to Miwa, she will be referred as such during game and in asks. I will be going over previous posts in the future to correct the name.
  • There were a few bugs in previous chapters that somehow the tests didn’t pick up before, so I fixed them.
  • You will notice some new things in the stat-page, pay them no mind, they’re not yet implemented into the game proper. 
  • Changed Cautious/Reckless to Control/Chaos. I’m still mulling over how to make it so you have more control over this stat.
  • I started using multireplace and subroutines for dialogue changes, hopefully it doesn’t break anything.
